I am so happy to have found this site. I visited the Kapok In Ft Lauderdale as a kid. Acctually my mom worked there and I was so happy to get to visit. We moved Back to Alabama and didnt get to see it but had great memories of it. We went back to visit a few years ago and to our suprise it was closed. Heartbreaking!! But I am glad I can take my kids to Clearwater this summer. I know they will love it!!

My husband and I honeymooned in St Petersburg, Florida and ate at the Kapok Tree one evening. We enjoyed the meal so much and loved the grandeur of the place. I recently was cleaning out some boxes and found a booklet I had purchased as a souvenir. I got on the computer to see if the Kapok Tree was still in existence, and was sorry to hear it wasn't, because we would have loved to revisit it.

I love the Kapol Tree, went there as a youngster with my parents, was in awe of the decor, gardens, # of folks and, the food was great. I went back as an adult many times and was still in awe! I'm sorry it is no longer a restaurant, I'd be there.

I was at the Kapok Tree in back in 1975 as a teenager. I recently found an old souvenir book I had purchases there. I wondered if it was still around and after going a google search I found this site. Thanks for taking the time to create it. Don't we wish we could go back and have dinner there one more time?

Growing up in Orlando, I remember taking a trip to the Kapok Tree as a child. It was only today that we went for a stroll in the remains of the gardens wondered what had become of the place. Then found this site. Thanks for the pictures and history.

I have tried numerous times to find the Kapok Tree Inn in Clearwater on the internet. I was so excited when I found this website. I have so many memories of our vacation in Clearwater and the memorable evening we had at the Kapok Tree Inn. The place was breathtaking. I still have a souvenir glass that I bought at the gift shop. Everytime I look at it, it brings back the wonderful memories. Thank you for providing us with the a walk down memory lane. It was one of the best times of my life. God bless you!!!

I just wanted to let you know that I think your site about the Kapok Tree is purely fabulous. I went back to memory lane with your site and the photos are unbelievable. You have brought back the Kapok Tree from it's grave, and you have my respect. Thank you and good luck Ben.
